Cheers has re-opened, and that must be good news for booze-cruisers!
Cheers
always had a clean, modern feel to it. It is unrushed and
its staff are knowledgeable (many are English speaking).
Major development catapulted Cheers to the forefront of booze-cruising in Calais before it's surprise closure. Now they are back, with an impressive beer hall. The design of the facade is stunning, but the inside is even better. It is bright and clean and the staff are happy to chat with visitors. The atmosphere is very friendly and their themes and promotions are innovative and unique. (Look out for the free gift offers.)
There
is a wine tasting area, and staff will allow you to taste any wine in the shop.
If they do not have one open, they will gladly collect one from the shop so
that you can be sure that you will
enjoy
what you buy.
It is refreshing that staff will advise you and will not "push" the most expensive brands.
There is a great selection of wines and beers.
If you only visit one site in Calais, you could do a lot worse than Cheers. They are marketed under the slogan; "The best kept secret in Calais". This is one confidence that you will want to share with your friends.
Cheers is situated just a short walk from Eastenders, Perardel and Pidou, but there is also on-site parking.
